There were 5 perfume ads today... 1. Miss Boucheron (Advertorial - GN Friday Magazine)***

Advertorial Headline: Seductive Charm

Advertorial Copy: Miss Boucheron opens the doors to a new olfactive wold: floral, woody, voluptuous, evoking dreams and fairy tales in which everything is possible. Bergamot and pink peppercorn sustain the first chords. Parma violet and Bulgarian rose in chorus of cyclamen merge into a delicate note of transparent petals. On the skin, Miss Boucheron enchants: it is full of seductive charm.

*** Extreamly nice visual... I wish I had done this...I wish someone in my agency had done this...I wish someone I know had done this... She's in town.. she sits there and opens the building cap to store her seductive charm in it... and the people residing in.

2. Rasasi-Attar Al Mohabba (Friday Magazine-83) **

HD: Love is in the air.

Copy: Attar al mohabba by Rasasi. Gift someoe the magic of love. And a special love pendant, too.

Baseline: To the one love I love.

** Nice.

* Visual... says it all.

* Ad...ok. Product photography is bad. What you see is a 'double'- bottle, because of it's reflection. 6. Big Joy Alukkas (GN Friday Mag-10) ***

HD: The art of expressing. In a million ways.

Baseling: World's favourite jeweller

The biggest in the Middle East.

*** I went back to the coverpage to make sure that I am not reading cosmopolitan, Eva or of that kind of international magazines. This is smothing new to this ad industry. I don't know how people in the Middle East perceive this 'biggest' and bold attempt, as a brand ad.

6. All Anwaar Jewellery (GN Friday Mag-24) ***

HD: Princess of Lyrics

Copy: 1104 glittering round diamonds(63.09 carats) pierce the shadows, dancing lightly on her skin. She. the composer's muse, his every musical note, an ode to her beauty.

Baseline: Inspired brilliance.

*** Al Anwaar has created a visual identity of royal fantasy in their ad ads and they still keep that synergy through out. Nicely written copy. Well planned visual composition. Only thing I felt was the copy, the way it's shown, might create blindspot...brilliant otherwise.

7. Westar (GN Friday Mag- 81) ***

HD: Is your wrist in fashion?

Baseline: Wrist fashion

*** Fantastic Idea. Played with the fashion statues- looks like a fashion brand window display. Cleverly played on visual elements-with pose, dress, background and headline position- so that watch would overcome the 'visual' threat from them. Very Good branding.

8. Lipton Campaign 2nd ad(GN Friday Magazine-33) **

HD: How would you like your antiodixidants. Sliced? or brewed?

Copy: you know there's no substitute for fruits and vegetables, which contain essential ntrients we all need. But did you know that when it comes to antiodidats, tea is comparable to fruites and vegetables? In Laboratory research by US scientists, a serving of black or green tea had more antiodidants than a serving of many fuits tested - including apples and bananas. Surprised? But its is true!

Baseline: Tea can do that.

* Can Lipton do that? I liked the visual part, tho' am not sure about the 'content'. We have reviewed first ad a month back. I think, since this is health related, the brand should have given research references or proofs to substantiate the claim before the people, rather than blindly defying the paradigm.


9. ETA Star (GN Fpg-5) **

HD: Concrete

Copy: Strong, solid and permanent. It can be like putty, echoing a child's imagination. It can be like clay, bespeaking a potter's artistry. * Only serious buyers will be interested to have a second look on this ad. What the brand thought of..may be the LCD mania that is going on... but it's very monotonous..with a classified look.
